What Hamster beds do you use?
What hamster beds do you use? I use Savic igloo ones but have just noticed my long haired syrian Inky sticking his bottom and skirt out through the opening He's currently fast asleep but it is warm. As with most things hamster related in pet shops, everything tends to be very small. I would like to get something a bit bigger and preferably something that the air can get in and out of as the weather now seems to be getting warmer. What do you use or recommend

We have a few different ones
Savic igloo's
Savic House
The kinda pottery type house ones they are nice and are bottomless too. It was good when Christie had her babies
A couple of our hams just have nests as they don't like houses.
Hamstermn get one of those pottery type ones from P@H they are 6.99 and have plenty of room in them.

I did have a Savic Igloo but it seemed to get quite stuffy in there and it was a bit on the small side. At the moment because it's so hot my ham has an open nest but I'm thinking of getting her one of the wooden houses I've seen in Pets at Home, which seem a better size.

I use 'guinea pig' natural woven grass type houses. They breathe well and Sammy makes a nest at one end and stores food in the other. But, it is a bit big for a smaller cage! I only got it as Sammy insists on having a bed and all the others are way too small

The couple I have are shaped like little houses with windows. I have two igloo type ones but one girl prefers an open nest.

Most of mine haven't got houses, they just make their nests in the open or under their shelves.
Chunky does insist on a house though and he has one of the log cabins they used to sell in P@H, which is quite large and being wood doesn't get too hot and sweaty.

Some of mine like open nests or nests under shelves. In todays clean outs I have also used 3 cat food boxes, a meringue nests box, a tissue box and a tea bag box! My hamsters are very keen on recycled houses.
