Default My hamster keeps chewing a hole in the cage

One of my hamsters, cupcake, keeps chewing holes in the plastic parts of her cage. Then, she climbs out of the cage and roams the house freely. I'll come downstairs in the morning and find her running around the living room. Luckily, she's a very good hammie, and will stay still while I pick her up and put her in her exercise ball while I patch yet another hole that she's created. Any suggestions? Any ideas for new enclosures that she can't chew through? Thank you!

What kind of hamster is Cupcake?
What cage does she have?
And how big is her wheel?

I ask because some hamsters will chew like crazy if they are bored and this is often because their cage is too small and their wheel is too small for them to use.

A dwarf hamster will need a cage that is about 70x40cm with a 6.5 or 8" wheel.
A syrian will need at least an 80x50cm cage and an 11" wheel.

Zooplus.co.uk is fab for cheap cages
I think most of us on HC have at least one cage from there!

Yeah... I'd just ask all that Purple has at the moment I'm afraid.
