Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2013)
Bill's first clean out of 2013.
Barney cage with a 28cm Wodent Wheel.
It is a bit basic, I would have more climbing toys etc in there for another hamster but Bill can't climb very well so it is all easy for him at the moment.

^ they're not really natural climbers anyway. what about filling up the base with more substrate? right to the top? he might be a burrower

Thanks, yea I have been thinking about giving him more substrate but he likes piling it all up in the corners and it ends up all over the place outside his cage. I might put some newspaper down and give it a try

Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2013)
I don't want to sound like a bore but thought I'd express my views to see what others think.
Why don't this thread be for just purely pictures and not general chat, as to be honest I found it annoying when looking for cage sets up having to scroll through pages and pages of comments. Maybe a seperate thread could be created for discussions about this thread (I know forums do this mainly in competitions etc)
Also how about a criteria for each post so people know what cage it is instead of thinking that looks good and not knowing what it is perhaps a basic layout of..
NAME OF CAGE:
MEASUREMENTS: (Maybe this could be personal pref if someone feels they dont want to share)
PRICE PAID:
PRODUCT DISPLAYED IN PICTURE: (e.g bendy bridge, karlie wonderland etc)
Maybe I am just being boring???

Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2013)
To an extent yes the thread should be just pictures but I think a little bit of chat i.e asking where someone got something is okay, as the PM inbox can get full really quickly and it's annoying having to empty it. The basic criteria layout is good, however many people might forget!!
ETA:
Like SS said, praise for good cages can be great, and if someone has a slightly small cage then feedback is obviously essential on the thread, rather than all flooding to PM!!
