Archie has had some alterations this morning so here is the new set up:

Top view

Under the shelf at the back

Under the shelf at the side

I need to get him a digging box so I can spread things out a bit as his digging area takes up alot of space!

I love how you have split off part of the cage with a wooden ladder to make a deeper burrowing section. I might steal that idea lol! Tati loves to burrow.

Now that's nice. I also like the way you did that separation for a digging area. Happy Hamster Home improvement! Good job.

Did you just use screws to hold the shelf up?

Thank you I have Alfie and Percy's cage ready now. The bottles are temporary and will be changed when the new ones arrive. They are modeling it for you

Contents
cage: 64L Really useful box
Bottles: Ferplast sippy bottle and a living world glass bottle
House: Borrowed from one of the Alexanders
Wheels: Trixie 8" wheels
Sand tray: Trixie corner toilet with roof
A toilet roll tube and a wrapping paper tube
Bonio and wheetabix
bottle holder: Homemade contraption from a hot chocolate tub, parcel tape and a wrapping paper tube for support
And of course Alfie and Percy

Yep the shelf is just screwed in, 2 on each side. I used fairly long screws to make it more stable. It is very sturdy and doesnt wabble

I did a big spot clean of both cages and added some new things so took some pictures

Apollo's Alexander - I really love this cage! His main toys are on the top level and he really makes the most of having this level, he adores all of the space. He's really come out of his shell He isn't really a digger and the level of megazorb seems to have dropped somewhat he tends to stamp it down! so churning it up is a daily thing for me or my bf!

His large sandbath/toilet is in the corner, wheel, his house, tunnels, food and water bowls and climbing toy are downstairs

Phoebe's zoozone2 -

She is the digger so plenty of substrate is a must for her! She has all of her food/water (I managed to attach the bottle where it should go using garden wire!) house, wheel and sandbath/toilet at the one end so her play time is at the other end! She seems to like it that way

Duncan's had a paint job today It looks fairly bare as I chucked out most of Finley's things as he had been poorly but this is it so far you can see him peaking out on the Left where I blocked where he chewed the bars
