Default A little help with ZZ1 meshing

So I've seen peoples guides on here, and it was all going okay 'till I stuck the lid back on and the hinge, ahhh the hinge... My mesh is blocking it from sliding in like a good little lid! I've seen other people do it so I don't think I'm going insane, I don't want to leave too much of a gap! Is there a trick I'm missing for 'encouraging' the lid into place?

I did same mistake and ended up just taping it all down. If I want the top bit off I just lift the whole top part off.

Argh, I got it! it does need to be very very flat with the back bar or else there's not enough clearance where it slots it. Rar!

I ended up leaving a gap by the hinges but mine is for a Syrian so I don't have to worry about leaving a gap. I did the same thing with my other ZooZone 1 though and just used to take the top part off like TraceyH said

What size mesh did you use?

If its 1cm mesh on the ZZ2 (100 cm cage) or 6mm mesh on the ZZ1 (75cm cage) you can cut out squares around the hinge parts it sticks on and they open ad close perfectly and still keep your hammy in.
Not sure how big a gap 1cm mesh would leave on a ZZ1.
But just figure out where it's sticking and cut it away.

I need to remove the awful grey tape and take the hinges off then maybe put some patterned tape on as it really does look an eyesore lol Luckily, the ham doesn't seem to mind, he loves it in that cage.

It doesn't look half as bad as my old one did xD I couldn't get small squared mesh so had to double mesh it. Not only did I mess up the hinges part, I also didn't stop to think about the fact I'd need to get my fingers in to open the lid so it rendered the whole lid useless really xD You've done a much better job than I did

Ghosts in Snow: if you've got cable ties left over you can make some loops through the mesh to use as handles so you can lift the lid

I don't have that one anymore, I got a new one. It had a crack in it and one of the clips broke so it was another excuse to replace it :P That's a really good idea though so thank you, will remember that for next time xD

Oh no, that must have been a nightmare having to double mesh it. I'm thankful mine was the 6mm mesh. I put some pudsey bear stickers on the clear part to jolly it up a bit haha.
