Orna, Hank and Peggy are all very good with their bowls...mind you Hank and Peggy have an enormous trough they can both sit in and eat :P

I tend to hide treats around the cage but I like to have normal food in a bowl (especially with older ones) so I can get an idea of how much is being eaten. I do tend to use bowls that all the hamsters in the cage could fit in to stop squabbles though.

I know this is meant to be a food bowl (I use mine as a sandbath):

Dwarfies could sit in that and eat their fresh foods!

For my robo I have the Rotastak orange bowl which is very low sided - very like the picture Bunsey posted size-wise.

Holly i use that one as a sandbath too

My WW is one of the tidiest hamsters i have - she never throws her food about and when i go to get her out of the cage she steps into the bowl so i can lift her out (thats an old habit from when she was in the perfecto tank)

I also use jar lids like baby food lids (i bought waffles baby food), Waffles is really the only one in need of a shallow dish so i put her special ground food mix in there
