i was always under the assumption that you couldn't cancel someone's bid. i was sure that you could only end an auction if there were no bids.

I don't think you can cancel someone's bid - I think you're supposed to say "yes put your big bid on" and then end it early so everyone can see its ended early because someone did a high bid. They'll have cancelled the auction to avoid fees I would have thought.
