Red face Cat proof Hamster Heaven?

Hey guys!
I've been looking into the hamster heaven and the imac recently, love those cages hehe
My problem being I have kitties, there 7 & 8 but still abit playful hehe

My hammies are in meshed bin cages at the mo and the kitties never really look at them, but when I get the hammies out Simbas eyes light up and he gets abit playful so have to keep him out the room for safety. Just whilst I have Theo or Merlin out then I let them back in, they wait so paitently, scratching at the door hehe

The cats only come in my room they dont really like the rest of my family lol :P :P

So i can't shut them out either.

I noticed the hamster heaven has a huge base, its deep so the hammie would be hard to tap at in there, and the shelves ones at the back and one looks like its quite some way away from the bars

what do you guys think are they ok with kitties?

The HH is probably no better or worse than any other cage. I've tended to favour tank type cages as I have cats. However, two nights ago one of my cats pushed Chi's Duna onto the floor. The cage stayed intact and Chi was fine, but it taught me that I need to weight the cage down so it's too heavy for a cat to move.

I have a hamster heaven (x2) and a really daft naughty cat she hasnt got into them. I dont use the penthouse or tubes on top I have them stoppered off to make it more secure. She hasnt got into the cages yet and they're quite heavy so she cant move them either.

Thanks for the replies guys
Ohh yeah I wouldn't use the penthouse, that would be asking for trouble, I love how deep the tray is, if hes down there hes untouchable its just the shelves im abit worried about if he sits on a shelf and leans agaisnt it,
Zoozones are good but I really dont have anywhere for 100cm's sadly, I can only just about fit the hamster heaven
The imac would be even more practical for me, but the bases on those and the shelves if you build up arent deep at all, i think those shelves are easier for him to be up agaisnt and be noticeable, do you think?

The HH is definitely not heavy enough not to be easily pushed down by a cat from a shelf/table. You have the option to either weight it down with something, maybe a wood board or some really heavy books or even the weights you put on the end of dumbbells. Or your other option is to put the cage somewhere where it's a tight fit or flush against the wall, like on a narrow shelf where there is no room above the top of the cage for the cats to get on.

Yeah i'd definatley put something on top just to also stop kitties sitting on top as well, It'll be agaisnt a wall, the side and back will be,
but the front and other side wil be at kitty height sadly

This has got me very stressed and confused it's so hard, i LOVE the cage, but i'm not sure if i'd feel safe going out my room or out the house with kitties in their and a bar cage

I've even crazily started to consdier the Ovo loft with a ton of extrensions. (none of those have wires)
And i don't even like habitrial!

I wouldn't be worried about a cat getting in, but i can imagine how stressful it could be for a hamster to know that there's a predator around constantly. For that reason, i'd go for a tank, although probably more for my peace of mind to be honest.
I wouldn't get the ovo loft, it's not really on the recommended cages list at all, in fact it's more the opposite..:/
I know there's also the simba rif multy off equinecaninefeline but there are ridiculously mixed reviews on them.

I have 2 cats who are very keen hunters. We have Monty our Chinese dwarf in a tank-style cage (Imac Bingo) which is great from the point of view of not letting the cats get near him at the sides of the cage but the catch at the top of the cage is not very cat-paw proof in my opinion. Our Syrian Teddy is in a Hamster Heaven & you're right, the base is lovely & deep so he would be hard for paws to reach while he's on the ground in his cage. We have the shelf end (old-style HH) at the wall end so the cats can't easily get round to him there because I think cat paws could get through the HH bars fairly easily.

However, I have to say that I never leave the cats unsupervised in the room where our hamsters & guinea pigs live in their cages because I just cannot trust my cats. They are gorgeous cats & I love them dearly but I have to accept that they are really good at hunting & are only following their hugely strong instincts when they see something small & furry moving. I do not doubt that they would do their utmost to get in the cages if given enough time & opportunity.

If you have no choice but to leave your cats alone in the same room with your hamster, I would go for a tank cage & make sure the lid is weighted down while still allowing for plenty of ventilation.

Hope this is helpful, with the right set-up & a bit of close attention to your cats, hopefully you won't have any problems
