The Tommy series has 1" bar spacing, which is too wide for hamsters, especially the smaller variety.

Hello Pamela, if you go back about 9 posts you'll see the link (DIXIE) that I put up for Biscotti. It will take you ABBASEED, the place that sells the FOP Taurino Naturala. I love it. I just bought 2 of them. Hope this helps.

very helpful links..ty! I am looking for a temporary (about a month) housing for my ham. I hate to take him out of his Ikea Detolf.

would this be to much space? i think you can buy the halves seperatley. which is what I would like to do or get a 40 gallon tank. (or talk my aunt into carrying it. i am house/pet sitting for a month)

The 40's are on sale right now, but I need new doors for my truck ....
You can always check on Craigslist! There are a lot of people selling aquariums and I've seen 40 gallon breeders for sale in my area a lot

Reptile tanks are different sizes than standard aquariums-did you know this?
I didn't. I assumed they were the same and just marketed differently.

I recently found an awesome deal on Craigslist that was offered as a reptile cage with an awesome sliding lid and it is slightly bigger than a 20 gal long. There is no brand on it that I could see.
20 gal long is 30x12
This tank is 32x14 with the inside measurements slightly less because of the glass thickness.
It might not seem like much of a difference but it adds quite a lot of space really. I fit a large flying saucer in there, where I could not with the 20 gal long.

So just wanted to give a heads up that if you want bigger than a 20 gal long but don't have room for a 40 gal breeder, look at the reptile tanks and you might find a great option.

the tamburino is large enough i believe, however if you have a huge wheel like i do, his is 11.25" it won't fit. panda's wheen can only be attached to wire cages, because it's a custom made wheel!

kurlicat go to this link, this is probably the cheapest price for the largest wire cage for a syrian in the US.

Small Pet Cages & Habitats: Marchioro Goran 82 Rat Cage

i have the marchioro kevin 82 cage which is almost exactly like this but it's a blue base with black wire top. it comes with two shelves and a bunch of useless accessories. the long shelf i hate. so I basically am not using anything the cage came with. my cage costs more, i should have bought this one and saved money! the only other difference is that my cage has 5/8" wire spacing but 1/2" should be fine for an adult syrian!

We already have a syrian and her cage is tiny I got to reading and discovered that her cage is WAY too small!! I am so ashamed !! So for the last week or so I have been searching for a larger cage for her. I am so grateful for this site! Thank you for the link I will take a look at it. Our hamster wheel is fairly small...I was going to buy her all new accessories with a more natural theme. I really like the tamburino since we have a cat though he doesn't really seem that interested in the hamster because he is horribly lazy and would rather have his food from a can.
