Wheel Height
Couple of wheel questions...
How tall is the medium 6.5" Flying Saucer?
How tall is the 6.5" Silent Spinner (including stand)?
Been looking online and I keep getting conflicting answers...

Re: Wheel Height
i'd measure the saucer but Mulan's running on it like a crazy ham, if no-one has answered by morning i'll measure it for you though, its not very tall (but that doesn't help - sorry)
and i don't have a SS so can't help there.

Re: Wheel Height
Oh this thread... Missed it completely.
Silent spinner is 21cm tall (including the stand)
Flying saucer is 10cm tall (obviously enough, also including the stand)

Re: Wheel Height
Thanks Charli and Sam
Definately going to go for the Flying Saucer. Means I can have deep substrate in both cages, plus I'm not convinced the SS would fit in the Combi, where I want the wheel to go.

Re: Wheel Height
one thing i will say about having a FS on top of lots of substrate is be prepared to un-bury it every morning, and also well mulan likes to sleep under the stand, and has chewed the plastic 'leg' bits off from underneath, so erm, yeah crazy hams like to hollow it out as a nest

Re: Wheel Height
Ah... LOL I'll keep an eye on it. I have to unbury Luna's sometimes.
I'm hoping that he will only dig in the Kios, which will have 13cm or so of substrate in it. The Combi will have less. Fingers crossed lol. He'll have loads of houses and hiding places too so fingers crossed there too lol.

Re: Wheel Height
Good luck... My only issue with the flying saucer seemed to be specific to our batch so fortunately won't be relevant
We had a bunch that didn't work properly (only green ones though...) but have since got a second hand green one that does work which is quite nice lol. Also handy when Muffin is the only ham we have who doesn't have two wheels in his cage.
Chances are Stevie will love it

Re: Wheel Height
Hopefully Stevies works OK, if not I'll put the Combi 1 wheel back in, get a SS and figure out the substrate issues. Lots of backup plans lol.
I'm going to bid on one on eBay, or buy a new one. If I get a new one I'll go for blue as I'm not too keen on the green lol.

Re: Wheel Height
I'm sure it'll be fine and good! I have a massive preference for blue ones entirely after our dodgy green ones lol
Chances are the one you buy will be fine though, our green secondhand one was (and is)
