i've tried that though and it's like a scrum. it's just who can press "confirm bid" quick enough wins, and it's never me! i just prefer to put in my max bid in advance and then it'll just bid for me up to that amount. Unfortunately tonight my mum was on the comp and i couldn't get there in time to raise my max bid, as i'd got in at £20, but i would've gone higher. i'm disappointed now cos i really wanted a yellow one!

Bidding should be fast though if you are already signed in? And you can press F5 to keep refreshing the page, I'm an auction expert lol

no, my computer is slow and F5 doesn't work! it takes a good 20 seconds for me to bid
i've also got a tiny screen that i have to scroll across to hit the bid button!

I have used that site for several years now - yes, they obviously need your password in order to place your bid for you, but I have had no problems at all as a result.

i think i might do that for the next gabber then. neither strategy seems to work for me. i lost one for just £3.20 collection only 5 miles away because i got my bid in too late and it said closed

I also use that site - have done for a few months, it's brilliant. I just won an auction at 3am because of it

I do all my sniping manually - and it almost always works

It's like an addiction, I guess - sweaty palms while I'm waiting to bid and all that. Usually the only times I lose auctions is when I can't be there at the last minute and place my bid early - placing bids early is a really bad idea.

I never place bids early - if I do the price just goes up so high. Mum has always been concerned about using a sniping tool because of the password thing, but if some of you have used it without problems then I may give it a go.
