try the Really Useful Box, available from staples or sometimes partners. The 84L (if you want tall toys) is good for syrians and dwarfs and the 65L i good for dwarfs (same size, but not as tall)

I found a great size bin, i think its bigger than the gabber rex too! http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70102972

If you click the arrow its the last one its a 130L bin and is a great size, i need some convincing i dont know if to get this or gabber rex, i would put mesh on the lid etc.

Im pretty sure the link to that box is considerably smaller then the Gabber. You might have the wrong link though!

The last one on the link (scroll down the arrows) is a good size but good though bins are we prefer a purpose built cage in which you have everything made to measure and you can see the hamsters and access them easily. The box is £9.99 and bt the time you buy mesh etc you will have another tenner and by then you are getting not so far off a rex anyway.

That last one is bigger than the Gabber but not by a huge amount. I also prefer ready made cages (Gabbers, Savic Cambridge and Imac Fantasy) because they seem somehow sturdier to me. I've made bin cage style transport boxes for shows/vets and I'm not sure I'd trust them to hold a hamster full time

However a lot of people swear by their bin cages, so good luck whatever you decide - that last one is certainly big enough!

Tac is in a bin cage and it's great for him. It probably cost me £10 to make altogether, it's a good size at 70cm x 40cm and he has never tried escaping and even if he did I doubt he would get out. So it works really well for us The box he's in is from Morrisons. They sell quite large ones in Instore too.

I think bin cages are great for people who want to give their hamsters lots of space but don't want to fork out a lot of money, although I do prefer the way cages look.

For example, I bought 2 bins for £8 at a new store here and they measure about 3cm less than the rex each way, which is brilliant in my opinion! I'm going to sort them out and then use them for my babies when they come away from their mum - perfect

I did use bins at one point and loved them for the price/space, but the condition that I could have them downstairs was that the hamsters were in cages - not boxes.
