In my personal experiences, my robos like larger sized wheels more. They hated the 4.5" spinners and absolutely loved 8" Jr. Wodent Wheels. The way I could tell was how much they ran on each wheel and spent time in it. Viola hasn't had a Jr. Wheel to compare, so she doesn't know the difference and is happy in her 14.5cm Karlie wheel. I wouldn't go smaller for her, as she's already 33g on average and I feel like if she's trying to satisfy her natural urge to run, having a more "road like" straighter surface feels better, rather than a climbing exercise on a high curvature small wheel. That's how I rationalized it for myself anyway when I decided to not use 4.5" wheels for any of my hamsters and set 5.5" as the minimum.

In my experience, breeders and pet keepers are two different mindsets. Especially where mice are concerned. Some mouse breeders don`t even give their mice wheels and keep them in breeding tubs at all times. Pet mouse keepers keep mice in rat cages with bigger wheels, so maybe that`s where the difference lies, I don`t know.

As far as I`m concerned, the mini wheels shouldn`t even be made because they are too small. The Regular silent spinner should be the smallest in my opinion.

Pip my robo has the 4.5 when he was a baby, but it was soon apparent that it was too small
He now has a 5.5, which seems the perfect middle for him

I admit I did use the mini silent spinners in the past but like you Gizmodo, I realised they were very resptrictive.
