Re: Guide to Buying a Cage
Is a medium zoozone 2 cage suitable for a male Syrian hamster?

Re: Guide to Buying a Cage
I originally bought a Rosewood Pico XL for my new Syrian Hamster because I wasn't sure what I should be using and based my purchase off the Amazon reviews. I now realise that this was not the best choice based on reading from here, other forums and some vloggers and recently bought a Mamble 100... please tell me I did the right thing?! Im completely new to the pet world, only knowing my best friends various hamsters over the years which has two smaller cages joined together by tubes... was this the right move for a 10 week old Syrian?

Re: Guide to Buying a Cage
I have read this and am now choosing between cages for my Syberian Hamster I will receive in March. But as they are more a Dwarf Hamster, would an Alaska cage do or is the barring space too big? Otherwise I might go safe and go for a ZooZone2.
Many thanks
Been strolling on the forum for a while for information but want to make sure I buy the right cage straight away

Re: Guide to Buying a Cage
In fact if we look at all of the RSPCA's recommendations many if not most of us are at risk of being accused of cruelty to our hamsters: - Stainless steel bars or mesh sides preferable to solid sides and must have a raised lid
- No wooden cages
- An area of i.e. sand or peat which is deep enough for the hamster to burrow
- Bedding material deep enough to allow the hamster to dig
- A shelter which is large enough for the hamster to comfortably move around, set up a larder and which is dark inside. Best is one which has an angled tube entrance to prevent light entering.
And so it goes on. Well, my Savic Hamster Heaven Metro is totally out. I'm looking at cages right now. Can't do a tank
Environment - Hamsters - Pet rodents

Can anyone please post a link to that information on the RSPCA website because I can't find it? Or else quote an RSPCA written publication because I can't find that either?
