Re: Bar spacing..
1cm would be best, hamsters can be very could escape artists and get through the tiniest of gaps! It's better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks for your help.. I'm shopping for another

enough cage with 1cm bar spacing.

Did you rule out the Machioro Goran? I love it except all my Syrians are bar biters.

Re: Bar spacing..
1.7cm is definetly too big I'm afraid, 12-13mm might be ok for a syrian but bigger is almost definetly going to be too risky

I was looking at a 3 story cage, where the floors are actually 3 complete floors. It's 2.300 living space. I really don't want to mesh anymore.. Lol..it's 3 large cages, stacked into 1 unit.
This is a two story cage, not for hamsters, but there is one like it for hamsters, with 1/2cm bar spacing. I was looking at something like this, but one that didn't need " meshing".

Yes, that's not the " exact" cage. Just an example of what I'm looking for. That same company does make a cage 100cm L designed for hamsters, but of course not available in the states. I may just go to Ikea, out of state.

Re: Bar spacing..
Have you considered a tank? They have no bar spacing and they it's easy to get hold of the right sized ones in America! x
