Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2012)
Thank you! I love the shelf, as I live in a bachelor apartment lmao so everything is in one room, and it saves me so much space, especially when Mowgli showed up so close to us getting Aisling. The other wall is Boo's 50, Gus's 40, and Merlin's (chin) Ferret nation, so needless to say we're full haha. I wish Petsmart had those 1$ sales...heck, I just wish we had petcos haha, our pet stores are awful

Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2012)
FANTASTIC. Yay Boo and Mowgli !!!
As an early Christmas present my husband who never fails to spoil me told me to get the FOP Gabbia Tamburino I have wanted. I originally wanted it for my new gerbils but the plastic would be too easy for them to work on so I had to do a shuffle of a few of my hams. First Strawberry was put in the Tamburino! And he LOVES it.
I haven't done much with it yet. Not sure what I'd do. But I just got it in yesterday and went right to work transferring Strawberry's stuff into it.
I really do adore the cage!
Strawberry says it's A-OK!
NOW!
Long story short - Bob's Mamble like cage I got for him was awesome beyond awesome but Bob apparently fell at least once and the size seemed to intimidate him as well as he stopped being active and would hide all the time. I bit the bullet and splurged on the Marchioro Kevin 82 and this is one of my favorites. Bob has been completely happy and back to normal. I can't say enough good about the cage.
Front view - he has a coconut look out that he loves - but it's attached to the door that lifts up so that is why that looks so weird. (And ignore the fake upside down coconut house in the way top back that I had sat there temporarily).
Here is the coconut when door is shut:
Bob is happy with it all - including all his dangling toys. This is the hay holder toy that I stuff with tissue and hide favorite treats inside and millet spray so he has to work for it to get it.
Yep, Bob is happy:
And this is my entire set up right now. Patch went into Strawberry's bin since he's my most active Robo and he loves the upgrade in space. Snow is now in Patch's old tank because I loved the decor set up of Patch's best.
The Gerbils are in Snow's old tank (the one with a whole toilet paper roll in there).
And the big 110 bin cage I made that you can see a little bit of is the playpen for the gerbils and the hammys right now. It's also Bob's travel cage.
I did have Strawberry in a double decker bin but it's too long a story to get into why I broke it up in the first place but everybody seems happy!

And as always, I LOVE what you did with all of yours! Where on earth did you find those mushrooms in Strawberry's tank?

Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2012)
Thank you!
I am not sure I can remember as it was way back in July but I think thatpetplace.com - aquarium decor. I found it on a google search for mushrooms and I could be wrong about the website but that seems to me how I found that website in the first place. They are pretty good with sales and deals from time to time and ship fast.
I was excited to find it because I always do that garden or woodland walk theme with the habitats so it was a MUST!

Oh jeesh-Bob is the cutest boy ever!
LOVE all the cage upgrades-you have the luckiest hams around!
Is the hanging coconut thing a bird toy? I think I saw that in the bird toy section and thought about getting it. Now that I see it in use, it looks like a great idea.
Great idea hiding the millet in the hay ball too-I'm gonna have to try that.
Thanks for sharing all the awesome pics!! Great work!!

Re: Let's see your cages (from January 2012)
Wow strawberrysmom, amazing as always!!!
Here is Pugwash's set up... He is in a Leon, which I think is great! On the bottom floor he has a massive corner house, where he spends most of his time - he uses it as a toilet, food store and bed! He also has a half-buried small bendy bridge, a half-buried toilet tube, a wooden log and a wooden ledge on that level, along with lots of sawdust.
On the middle floor is his wheel, a kitchen roll tube, a wooden seesaw, a new cardboard box, which he loves, and a chew log treat.
Top floor is a medium bendy bridge (he loves this!), his food and water, a mineral lick that I don't think he ever uses, and a dish with a big round chewy treat in it. He has previously managed to get the treat out of the dish and down to the next level so I'll be interested to see what he does this time
Hope you like it, please let me know any improvement ideas

THank you Jesselle Strawberry gets sweeter and sweeter over time. Not that he was ever NOT sweet. He is by far the tamest, bravest, most sociable little hamster EVER. <3 <3
I added more of his old decor back in. He always loved his platforms!
