Default has this happened to anyone else??

a few weeks back i bought my syrian a new wheel from jolleys. i bought her a 7 1/2" savic rolly wheel. however when i got up this morning and looked in her cage i noticed that her wheel had come off of the bars and when i looked it had somehow broke like this :

on the first one look where my finger is pointing its quite difficult to tell and on the second one thats the yellow part that goes through the middle.

has anyone else had this problem?

I've not had anything similar Trina, but that is bad and you should take it back to the shop and ask them to replace it.

Now I do have a spare 'yellow bit' if they won't play and replace it for you, so if you have any problems, pm me and I can easily post it to you or bring it to the next show whichever is easier.

I've had that happen with a roly wheel and also the wheel bit that goes over the yellow axel has cracked. I don't find they last that long unfortunately.

I tend to find the yellow bits wear away within a few months certainly not this quick

Yes, crap aren't they? What you can do is write to the company via email and tell them the problem and they will send you three or so replacements. However, they will all break in the end but at least you have told the company the problem and if they get enough of these emails something may be done. Happened to me and they axle lasted maximum of 3 weeks. They are probably all right for their smaller 5 inch wheel but there is probbaly too much strain put on it with the larger 7 inch wheel.
You may like to go to your local builders, take the wheel and ask if they have any bolts + nuts that will allow the wheel to spin. There is a type of bolt which only has the thread on the end and the rest of it is smooth. You then just bolt the whole set up to the cage and your problems are solved, mostly....

We have had several Rollys for a few years now and have never had any problems with them! We think they are great wheels and are a perfect size for a full-grown Syrian, and also fit neatly onto a Gabber Rex. You should Email them or contact them about it, and hopefully they will send you a new one. That is what they did when Sonni's Silent Spinner broke.
