Hammy escaped from this

I have a ham that has managed to escape from this cage addon I bought for him. Somehow he figured out that he could twist the thing open, it takes him all night to do but he eventually escapes. Anyone else have this same problem with this? Is there a way to ham-proof it?

I used to have that exact expansion room and yes, my Syrian escaped too. I didn't try to hamster proof it. I tried using it with my Dwarves instead but none really liked the little room. It just sat empty all the time so I eventually just got rid of it.

Good thing it was given to me so I didn't waste any money!

good old sellotape although it then makes it a bit harder to wash and keep clean
