Best wheel for a Syrian?

I`m on the hunt today for a suitable wheel for my new inherited hamster Boris! He`s quite large syrian so I was thinking something around 8" inches diameter would be good? Or should I go a little bigger? I`m happy to purchase online today or tomorrow, so any links you guys can provide to good retailers who are fast at delivering, I would be much obliged and so would Boris!

If you can fit a larger wheel in the cage, I'm sure Boris would appreciate one.

Just make sure you measure first, their size isn't to be under-estimated. I really like the Senior Wodent wheel (11") for Syrians; easy to take apart for cleaning, and my hammies seem to really appreciate the enclosed design.

Thanks very much Pomegranate. I feel the 12" inch is a little on the large size though! Is there a size down from this? The `middle` sized wodent? Not sure what they call it.

The senior is the middle size, The next one down is the Junior, its 8" and a good size for a syrian. The biggest is the wobust wodent wheel and it is ginormous!

Other good wheels are the Trixie wonderland wheel - this is SUPER silent, really recommended!

Trial and error in my case!

I had a junior wodent wheel for Phoebe and although she was probably okish, she just looked a bit cramped, her nose was right up against the edge as she was running so I upgraded her to the rodent wheel by trixe, she also has the largest wonderland wheel too, but this is a bit of a squeeze to fit in the zz2. I have an abundance of unused wheels now!

The junior wodent at 8" inches sounds about right, but I just hope it is big enough. The silent spinner he is currently using is 6.5" diameter and far too cramped, so I need to go that bit bigger. I had no choice but to give him this yesterday as he was using a Rotastak Space Command enclosed wheel and the poor wee man looked trapped in it.

That will be binned and recycled plastic soon!

The Trixie wheel looks good too but the rat one seems a bit big? Do Trixie do the 8" inch equivellant?

No, the small one is 11". I have one for Phoebe and she has no problems using it, it is not as good quality as the wodent wheel, but still a good wheel, it comes apart for cleaning and everything, just seems a bit rattly to me, compared to the ww

Is it me or have Zooplus stopped selling the 28cm Karlie Wonderland wheels?

Darn it, I was thinking of trying one of those, and I think they were the only UK stockist.
