Default Re: Best wheel for a Syrian?

I have a large syrian and bought him the 12" Silent Spinner which seems just right for him, but he does have a large enough cage to accommodate it! He did have a Wodent Wheel before that but soon outgrew it so it has gone to my other smaller syrian! Looking forward to photos of Boris whizzing around in his new wheel!!

Thanks everyone for your help. I`m glad I went for the 11" inch Trixie wheel now over the 8" inch Wodent Wheel. I made up my mind purely because the Trixie wheel can be hung from the cage bars and also on it`s stand, while the Wodent wheel has to always be attached to it`s stand. I did`nt have an issue with that, but I like to hang a wheel from the bars if I can, so the Trixie gives the best of both in that respect.

I can`t wait to see Boris using his new, larger wheel! I`m sure it will be a massive improvement on the regular silent spinner he has temporarily, I`m used to using these for my three female mice, but I can see that syrian hamsters need a wheel that is way bigger!

I can`t post a photo of Boris sadly as I don`t own a camera. But I will definately report back and let you all know what he thinks of his wheel!

Thanks again everyone. x

Good information here! My Harry is too big now for the wheel that came with his cage. I bought him a Trixie one (the rough wood looking one) all he did was chew it as the wheel was too stiff to run in. I tried to fix it but that didn't work. So w he has a new hides house! Just need to get him a new wheel for his cage as he loves running!!
