Default Hamster Pen?

I'd love to get a pen for my Syrian to be able to run around without constant supervision. I've found a few on the internet but all seem to have terrible reviews and say they can climb straight out! Anyone found one that works!?

I read somewhere that the best type of pen is one made out of plastic sheets taped together. Hamster Can't get a grip on the flat sheet so can't chew it, and it's too slippery to climb over.

I'll try and find the thread....

I dont bother with playpens.
When I'm cleaning my hammies out and they will be unsupervised I pop them in the bath (with no water of course!) with lots of toys and they love it in there.
They cant climb up the sides of the bath so no risk of them escaping.

I made a playpen out of cardboard, and covered it with paper and he doesn't try and chew out of it, and its too tall for him to climb out of. And i connected the 'panels' with string! I tied them very tightly so there was no gaps for Milo to get out of, no escapes so far! And plus - because i tied it with string it just folded up to be put away and then i can easily get it out, unfold it and vuala!

I don't have a bath or that'd be a great idea. I think I'll have a go at making one then, not sure whether to use cardboard or plastic though. I think it's silly that all the ones on the market don't actually work!
