Thanks for the replies.

I am thinking maybe a cage without bars this time as firstly, our cat is very fond of "hamster watching" and the fact that claws can quite easily go through bars is a bit of a worry and secondly because Wilson occasionally gnaws bars which is really irritating at 2am!

The ZooZone's and Savic's look quite good. I will have to keep an eye out on Ebay for any.

just thought I'd add, you'll get the best results on ebay for zoozones by searching for 'indoor guinea pig cage'

well im gonna sound like a broken record again, but perhaps if you live in canada and the states, get him a rat cage. Rats are bigger then hamsters but small then bunnies and full grown guineas that way their cage would probably be suitable for a very large hamster. Also cages for rats are usually designed a bit bigger anyways because people usually have two. And they are usually cheaper then hamster, and guonea pig cages because it hink rats as a pet are more uncommon. I dont know but i got my two level rat cage with ladder for 40 bucks canadian which is 25 pounds.
