Default Holly in a Cambridge

I've had my Holly for around 3 weeks now and today I put her in her new cage - a Savic Cambridge. When I adopted her she was in a Ferplast Olimpia which I think was fine for a baby but she is a growing girl and I thought she needed a larger one. Today I introduced her to the Cambridge, I set it all up and put most of her toys in, plus some bedding from the old cage, and put the new cage on the floor of the living room and sat beside her while she explored.

She was a bit anxious to start with, a bit tentative on the ladders, but very quickly got the hang of it and started climbing on the bars in next to no time. She just gave me one fright, the first time she climbed up to the top level she looked over the edge of the platform, overbalanced and fell off, executing a perfect one point landing on her nose on the (fortunately deep) bedding on the cage floor! She doesn't seem to have hurt herself though and she's now belting round on the larger wheel I bought for her at the same time.

I've ordered a hamster toilet for her on line, that will make cleaning out the Cambridge a bit easier - she seems already to have chosen the far corner under the lower shelf as her restroom!

I bet she loves all that space. Good job you had all that substrate to break her landing. Maybe she wants to be an acrobat when she grows up.
