Should I remove the shelf from Mini duna?
My female winterwhite lives in a Mini Duna cage since last Monday and I think she likes it very much!
She has made her nest underneath the shelf and she spends most of the time there, so I can't see her at all!
Thhis particular shelf is not transparent so this makes it even more difficult for me to see her.
She is a bit insecure and cautious hamster so maybe that's the reason she likes to hide there that much.
Should I remove the shelf from Mini duna so I can see her?
Do u think this will make her feel more comfortable or it will stress her?
Here's a mini duna cage:

My dwarf loved the shelf and did as your does and made his nest under there. Is she tame yet? Will she let you pick her up? Or does she go under the shelf to escape from you? Maybe take the shelf out untill she is a bit more tame and used to you and then put it back in.

Re: Should I remove the shelf from Mini duna?
She is tame enough...I think.
She doesn't always let me pick her up, many times she behaves like she's afraid of me or just doesn't want to be picked up (unlike her brother who loves beeing picked up and explore everything!) (They are two months old).
I am still trying to understand her personality and reactions and I don't want to do anything that will upset her.

If she seems happy and feels safe under there then I would leave it in. As long as you can get her out for taming and doing a health check it should be fine

I wouldn't remove the shelf if I were you, it can be security for your ham

Removing the shelf also severely reduces the floor space.
I'd leave it in, some of them do need more times to come out of their shells.
