Agreed. Mine has Sainsbury's Basics loo roll - undyed and unscented - full-time for her bedding, it really works great for her, and the low cost is a great added bonus.

yeah, it's £1.49 for 6 rolls I think, which it'd take me ages to get through even with 4 hammies

I only use and always have used Loo rolls unscented - its safer and much cheeper than those supposedly 'safe' bedding materials that the manufacturers advertise.
