Hamster Wheel!! Help needed Please!
Hiya everyone
Well, my 8 month old syrian hamster Truffles has seemed to have outgrown his rotastak rainbow wheel within the last few weeks, as it has come to my attention that he has to bend his back slightly in order to run! He is currently staying in a Rotastak Adventure Zone with many toys for his entertainment! I've heard that the wodent wheel is the best wheel available for a syrian hamster, however it wont fit in my rotastak cage and i'm currently too caught-up with school work to fix up a bin cage, so iwas wondering if this cage would do as a good add-on (As in a wheel cage, solely used for his running wheel), and if the orange wheel which comes with it is large enough for a syrian?
Its called "Habitrail Ovo Pad"

I'm not using the Habitrail as the hamsters main home, i'm using it as an add-on to my hamster's rotastak Adventure zone as a wheel room. So i'm wondering if the orange wheel provided in the habitrail ovo pad is large enough for a syrain hamster, as my syrian is outgrowing the rotastak rainbow wheel :P

No, the wheel that comes with the ovo is 6.5" so it's not suitable.
I hope you can make bin cage soon.

I dont think the wheel in that would be much bigger to be honest. :/ and for the price of it I would buy a large bin instead ( just melt some holes into lid for ventilation) not much work. Then you could fit a full sized wheel in and have it as a cage too?

Re: Hamster Wheel!! Help needed Please!
You can probably get a better cage online.. ebay etc, for the same price.
syrians ideally need a 20cm wheel, which is fairly large!
This is why I love dwarves.. everything for them is little

Re: Hamster Wheel!! Help needed Please!
Aah right! Thanks for the comments and information! Will not be buying that then! i was wondering if this would work as a good temporary measure: Habitrail Ovo Trainer Exercise Wheel Habitrail Cages on eBay (end time 21-Jan-11 22:06:05 GMT)
Is it the same size? Smaller or Larger?
I'm really needing a good temporary measure as i have course-works to do and am currently crammed with them Thanks :3

It does say it's 8" but I still don't think it's worth it myself.

For about £10 extra you can buy her a new cage, so she will no longer have to live in the rotastak.

I'd do with what snickers has suggested- she will be much happier im sure, and a nice big wheel will fit
