savic cambridge or criceti 15
Looking at gettin a new cage for my 10 wk old syrian as he seems to have outgrown his cage (criceti 9) and there is no room for him to run around with all his toys and chews etc.
I put up a thread earlier asking what people would recommend and im now stuck between these too. Ive looked at reviews and they both seem really good and there is not too much differance price wise.
Please if you have these cages could i see pics of them so i can get more of an idea about space inside etc and also any pros and cons you have found with either of them would be apreciated.
Im thinking of getting a wodent wheel too so do these fit inside ok.
Many thanks
xx

Re: savic cambridge or criceti 15
I considered both these cages for my daisy and eventually chose the Criceti 15 - and I would say it was definitely the best choice.
First of all, its huge - bigger than the cambridge, and has a nice big shelf with plenty of places to hang things such as bridges, hammocks and other platforms.
One good thing it has that the cambridge doesnt is a nice opening - the whole lid lifts up for nice and easy access to your hammy. The Cambridge has fiddly little doors.
The Criceti is more money, but its a fabby cage and definitely worth it - its easy to extend too as it already has tube holes cut out (these are capped off as standard) - so you could add a bin cage and make it even huger!

Re: savic cambridge or criceti 15
idk i've never had any of these cages but i was trying one of the doors of the cambridge in a petshop a few days ago and i could barely get my hand in to move around, let alone scoop up a hamster! But they're both nice cages
I think its cool the criceti has a extendable thing too it means you dont have to go about cutting wires lol

A slight problem that one member has with the cricito 15 was when her hammy stood on the shelf and chewed the plastic on the roof door. It was Baily Benji I think and the hamster nearly escaped. Something to keep an eye on if your hammy starts chewing there.

Oooh naughty ham ham!!
But I know that Amethys Ice hamster chewed the shelves to shreds in the cambridge, although he didnt escape its still very annoying!
Persoanlly I prefer the Criteri 15 I think its a nicer looking cage and I like the big opening, but they are both fab cages really.

Re: savic cambridge or criceti 15
yes my little bear seemed to have a major hang up with the red shelf! He chewed it all around the edges and there was plastic everywhere! I still have to try make him a wooden shelf..i think with the cambridge, they have ok floor space but the shelves help you utilise the space.
Only downer with cambridge i would say is the rounded shape..makes hanging things a bit annoying as they dont hang even..also the bars bend easily, i have had to mesh parts of mine to secure bars i wasnt happy with. But overall i would sya what a proper starter cage should be like
