Imac Fantasy Questions!

So I'm getting my first hamster soon, and my Imac Fantasy just arrived! I'm so pleased with it, it's huge. But I have three questions, hopefully somebody who has the cage will know the answers:

1. Do I put woodshavings in the second floor?
2. On the second floor, why is there one of those circles you can take out, like the ones on the roof? What's it for?
3. On the opposite corner to where there's that bedroom bit, there's a ridge in a similar shape, but only about 2cm high. What's that for?

And actually, this is unrelated but I need to buy a wheel, an 8 inch one. Is the Savic Rolly any good? I've heard the Wodent Wheel's great but it's a bit expensive and I'd have to order it online.

i have one of these so i'll try and answer your questions.
1. yes but i didnt put alot, mine would just move it all into her bedroom.
2. i dont know i just left it in there.
3. i think the ridge is to put the bedroom area over so it is raised. thats what i did any way.
you will have so much fun with your new buddy.

Hey!
My 3 syrians al have animac fantasy attached to their duna multy as an extension.
1.I don'tput shavings on the second floor but you could!
2. I have taken out thecircle bits and put ladders in 2 and a rope in the other but you could leave it in I guess.
3. In the little ridge bit my 3 have chinchilla sand to roll in. the love it! Hope this helps

i have an extension with my imac so i dont put shavings in this but i do in the bottom and i put some in the loft which dora does take to her nest and add it into her bed.

as jent said you can attach ladders etc to this part i have yet to try though.

im not sure on the raised part.
(dora doesnt use the ''bedroom'' area we have this as a eating area for her as she dragged the bedding out)

I've just "inherited" an Imac with Pandora, my rescue girl. Its a lovely cage and I find it so easy and quick to clean. I've continued to furnish it how it arrived so the base has a deep layer of sawdust, the second level has her wheel (a jumbo rolly) and I put sawdust as a soft landing area and then in the attic level (where she likes to sleep) I just put sawdust in the little bedroom bit. Only thing I'm not too keen on is the bars as she is a bar chewer and has a lovely little bald patch on her nose!

dora is a bar chewer too with a thinning nose im awaiting the arrival of a disinfectant and she going back into the gabber as all dora does in the imac is chew the bars from moment she wakens.. atleast in gabbers she had to make the effort to monkey bar to chew and she played more too.

I feel your pain lol! She's quite easy to distract luckily so she just gets a few more sessions in her ball which seems to wear her out! Coco is in a Home Sweet Home Cambridge style cage and she's taken all the paint off the door. She'll be going in a tank cage before much longer
