Yep, you just turn up on the day for the pet show. It's judged at 2, so being there a bit before to get your entries in is a good idea! Pet shop hammies are welcome in the main show, but are less likely to do well (which is a bit disappointing for people) and you have to be there from the start (around 10am) to the end (4-5pm). Kingswinford is the Christmas show with a buffet laid on, so it does tend to be a bit longer than other shows because there's a longer lunch break.

oooooh christmas!!! *starts sewing hammy christmas size hats* hehe ill have a look at the standards but i dont think my lot would stand a chance...yikes FM i dont wanna compete against you!! hehe

does everyone get a certificate or is it just for the winners? Im so excited..i put a bright pink post-it note in my bf's diary so he has no excuse not to know when to try get off. He has annual leave to be used- i think this is a worthy cause! Hes a little confused by the hammy show though, he was asking if you need a licence etc! im like..pet class, just turn up- i think he wants more convincing...

It might be an idea to join the club because only members usually partake of the free lunch
Normally places 1st - 4th get a prize card with various rosettes and trophys for the big wins.
If you join the club though you can enter the Novice and small hamstery classes and these encourage newbies. You always have a better chance in those but then you never know you might have an outstanding hammie who will place in the main show. Remember if you take a lot of animals for pets then you are competing against yourself as well as the other entrants though I think that Midland splits into males and females, dwarf and syrian and non hamster pets like rats and rabbits
