I will see you there Chesca.

I've volunteered to help out in the kitchen... it's going to make a change from stewarding.

Oooh yay! I think I'm a bit young to volunteer there, but maybe in a few years.

Any of the Metallica hams being entered?

I am definitely going on Saturday with Jasper. I decided not to enter Oreo as it is too much hassle and he is quite old now, so I don't want to stress him out. Plus, I know Pemba will get very frustrated being crammed into a small space - he gets stressed enough when being shut into the cage loft for cleaning.

I contemplated entering my two piggies but decided against it this time as I'm getting the train some of the way and it's going to be a bit too much to carry.

I don't normally do the kitchen as I'm not exactly the worlds greatest cook but as the lady I was travelling to the show with volunteered to do it, I said I'd help out with things like the teas and coffees and serving the food.

Piggies are quite big for shows aren't they? Pemba weighs a ton!

I love cooking to be honest. I'm not great either, but I'm still learning. Whenever I'm off school, I end up making my own lunch so I have a bit of experience.

I've been avoiding this thread as I was judging today - I try to avoid show threads online in the run up to a show so I don't inadvertently see or hear about hammies who'll be entered. I enjoyed my day and only had 68 dwarfies so could have a good look at them without feeling I had to rush. Judging finished at 4pm and we were all out of the hall after tidying and presentations by 5pm which was nice and early. A lot of the hammies had been finding the seasonal change difficult with some loss of body and lots and lots of moult. Best in show was a lovely albino Campbell with reserve best in show going to a pearl winter white.

I only took 2 Syrians to show. Youngster Centaur came joint bottom of the table (his colour's not great because of what he carries) but my adult LH dark grey lad Olympic got 2nd place in LH AOC male.

I hope those who went from HC had a nice day.

I guess that makes sense - avoiding the thread, Vectis. Jasper was the Winter White with the red pepper in his show pen, so you got to hold him. Congrats Vectis on Olympic !

I had a really fun day today. It was quite a small show compared to what I've been to. I won a ton of things in the Tombola, which was certainly fun . I now have tons of things I don't need lol, and presents for my parents. I bought sand and an igloo for Larry-Jasper.

Larry-Jasper was entered in the main class and excelled. I now have four certificates and a rosette. He placed in four out of his six classes, but I never expected him to place in classes D18 and D19. He got Reserve in Pearl Winter White, Very Highly Commended in Junior, First in Novice (he was the only entrant) and Third and in Small Hamstery. I got a beautiful blue rosette from the Novice class, which I got to choose.

I met Fluffagrams and we had a nice chat and I shared lots of pig and ham photos. I also saw Matthew and Victoria in their show pens, and they are absolutely tiny and utterly adorable.

Edit: I forgot to mention but there was a hamster that gave birth in its show pen. It got taken out onto the show grid things and some pinkies fell onto it as well. I only saw briefly, but it was really cool and they were unbelievably tiny.

It was lovely to meet you Chesca and thank you for showing me all those lovely photos of the piggies and Jasper. I'm pleased that you didn't come home empty handed either.

I was helping in the kitchen and it was a busy day, particularly during the breakfast and lunchtime rushes. It did mean I didn't get to chat to as many people for as long as I'd have liked but I'm sure that there will be other shows where I'll be able to catch up.

Lord James's absence from the show team today was felt and as a consequence we didn't do as well as we have at previous shows. Hopefully things will pick up again in the future as our show team develops.

Well done to all the winners.

Congratulations to you and Larry-Jasper, chesca. Sounds as though Vectis liked your little boy too with that rosette and certificates. Excellent show for you!

Thank you Coco . I don't know how anyone could not like Larry-Jasper , but I am biased.
