Default Cardiff Show (MHC) - 30th July 2016

It's not long until the Cardiff Show, hosted by the Midland Hamster Club.

Here's a link to the schedule for anyone interested: https://hamsters-uk.org/media/2016%2...20Schedule.pdf

I'm hoping to be there as it's not a bad journey from where I live near Bath, is anyone else from HC planning to be there?

I suppose I'd better be there....

I remember last year it was a 5.30am start to pen the hammies and get there in time to set up. Not many things get me up that early on a Saturday!

I'm intrigued

I've not yet managed to get to a Midland Show (despite having joined as an associate member several months ago) so I'm quite looking forward to it.

What time was it you had to get up to go to Sand Hutton this year? I was very impressed that you came to that one!

Lol, it's more that you've come up in conversation with people a few times (all good things!) and I keep thinking it would be nice to meet you I go to most northern and midland shows, very rarely a southern one though!

I am honoured that people have such nice things to say about me and it'll be great to meet you.

Will you be there for the main show?

One day I might get up to a Northern show, we'll have to see what the future holds.

Yup, I'll be there for the main show, delivering someone a hamster from someone else up north, and also showing a couple of hams, not sure who yet!

Lymm's probably your closest northern show, not going to be another one till next year now though!

I wondered the same thing so I asked the show sec and it's a class that they'll put in sometimes when the judge is an NHC judge rather than a club judge. If your hamster wins that class they get a certificate.

From the NHC handbook:

Quote:
14. Each affiliated club shall hold two NHC Diploma Classes each year (one Syrian, one Dwarf), to be judged by NHC judges; these shall be duplicate classes for any shade or variety. The entry fee will be as set by the Council, the prizes being cards only, and points shall be awarded to winning exhibitors' clubs as follows: 7 points for 1st, 6 points for 2nd and so on down to 1 point for Commended. All entry fees for this class shall be paid to the Council and shall be received by the Council Treasurer within 14 days of the date of the show.
When I last asked someone about it, they said it was to make sure that each club had at least one show for Syrians and dwarfs judged by an NHC judge (rather than a club judge).
