I went to Brockholes today with some of my furries. I had fun book stewarding for the dwarfies as part of my judge training and chatting to people I don't often get to see in real life.

One of my retired girls came along to take part in hamster bowling. She felt that she was better at a more supervisory role and that the humans ought to be running around instead, resulting in a stand off where a whole zero skittles were knocked over!

The show team are more practiced and did amazingly well.

Syrians:
2nd LH Satin (Cedric)
2nd LH AOC Female (Celtica)
2nd breeder, 1st Young Stock and 3rd grand challenge (Celtica)

Dwarfies:
1st, 3rd and 4th normal Chinese (Aave, Brutha, Wrangler)
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th patterned Chinese (Fire, Lucci, Chessell, Chale)
1st and 2nd young stock (Fire, Lucci)
1st, 2nd and 4th breeder (Fire, Lucci, Chale)
1st, 2nd and 3rd grand challenge (Fire, Lucci, Aave)

Everyone was settled back into their cages with a little extra linseed (apart from me - I got a glass of wine ). As it was a long day for them, the hammies were excused the post-show photoshoot:

Congratulations Vectis and the stunning Fire on winning BIS Dwarf. The first Black eyed Chinese to win a BIS I believe. All the better that he is Boblet's son. Delighted about that.
I have some pictures from the show. We were busy in the kitchen and didn't have any entries but I will be introducing some newbies who came up in the Vectis train to Custard hamstery.

Hamster bowling set up

I think we know know the lovely winner

Oh what a hoot! Is that Freya?

I can only hope with baited breath for us to have shows like this. It sounds amazing. A bit congrats to Vectis - I'm not surprised with how beautiful your hams are!

And the awards - Some of you will remember little Sparkle who passed away and me getting a hamster for her family. Well Buddy's young mistress was thrilled to win Best in Show Junior at her first show with him.

And here is Vectis on the right getting her award

andthe stunning Fire
