I know of a few good breeders through either email or the forums (and there's a few who are members here) who are outside of CA, but I don't think there's a comprehensive list, since a lot of US breeders are local and don't have internet presence so I don't dare to pretend to be able to judge the quality of their breeding programs. Unfortunately I also know a lot of "breeders" who are basically backyard breeders with very little knowledge or drive to learn. Sadly, facebook groups are full of them. :\

It would be nice if there's a registry like the NHC has so people can keep track. I know the rat fancy keeps a very detailed registry, but the hamster fancy in the US is not at that point yet in terms of participation.

I'd be interested in starting something up in ontario. It could include some of the northern states at the very least. You think Linda would be willing to offer some advice?

It won't hurt to ask, she's always been very helpful when I had questions.

Thanks Biscotti. It's worth a shot once things are less hectic up here anyways. We could use some standards and what not.

We are a week and half away from the Summer Show. Just a reminder to anyone coming to the show (or is thinking of coming) that the entry deadline is a week from today on 7/23 Wed at 5:00 PM. Late entries are accepted on the day of the show with $1 late fee.

**Important Note**: This show is hosted on private property, so there is an entry code needed for attendees to get through the main door. This code is only usable on the day of the show, and will be distributed via the CHA email. So anyone coming to the show, even if you are not entering a hamster, please email Linda (email on the first post of this thread) to let her know you're attending so you will get the code.

Address and direction to the show site had been updated on the CHA blog, although the links are still broken.
