Hey guys on HC do any of you guys know where any hamster shows in America .

I believe Holmden Hills was trying to start some?

Uhhh I believe there's one happening in Ohio? But I think it's kinda hit or miss.

The California Hamster Association is quite active, from what I hear. They have shows regularly.

The CHA site is down right now, but hopefully it will come back up soon

I'm interested in what you said, Hekomi, about a show in Ohio? The link you gave is also down (as is IHANA and River Road Hamstery... what is happening to the hamster world of the internet??) I'd like more information about that, so I'll keep checking back on that link!

Argh what a pain. I think it's more of an EXPO? It may not be exactly what you're looking for but it's the only thing I can think of.

I'd love a North American Hamster Association, though I was considering a Canadian one. Since I want to go into breeding I'd like to affiliate myself with an association when the time comes (that is, in 2-3 years down the road, lots of time to learn about genetics and everything else hamsters).

There's not much North and on the east coast.

As aly mentions, CHA hosts hamster shows regularly in southern California, typically one per season. Our next show should be sometimes around July/August, but the actual date hasn't been set yet.

I don't think a NA hamster association is possible simply due to geography (too big, hard to organize shows) and just plain not that many good breeders. IHANA had a good stab at that, but sadly, it didn't last.

I've seen that ad posted around FB, but I think it's exhibition only. There might be a rat and mice show if some judges are attending it, but I'm not sure of the details.
