I normally specify the colour i'm entering - since when I was new a couple of times secs replied checking that I was entering in the right things

when i very first entered the first few times i think i wrote something like:

one male winter white normal into class DX and duplicates DX, DX
one male long-haired black-eyed cream into class X and duplicates X, X

etc.

This is the format I use for my entries - it makes it easier for my records as well as makes sure I'm entering the right class!

"SYRIAN SECTION

Hamster 1 - Custard - LH Yellow (male)
Main Class = 10. LH AOC Male
Duplicate Classes = 15. Novice, 16. Small Hamstery

Hamster 2 - Rumsey Smarterone - LH Satin Sable (male)
Main Class = 12. LH Satin
Duplicate Classes = 15. Novice, 16. Small Hamstery, 17. Young Stock (D.O.B. 5 April 200

Hamster 3 - Montezuma Marteser - LH Sable (male)
Main Class = 8. LH Self
Duplicate Classes = 15. Novice, 16. Small Hamstery, 17. Young Stock (D.O.B. 4 April 200

I like that makes it very clear for a secretary especially if they are dealing with a new name and maybe a bit wary they have got it right first time
