Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
Well we're definetly leaving with the two we're arriving with lol
Just had Fwirl out for ages and she's definetly tame and happy enough with people to go We wanted to be absolutely sure since she's not always in the mood to be out when we're awake, and since she used to be a biter we wanted to be 100% sure before completely committing to taking her, but she stopped biting a good while ago now and is definetly ready and likely to enjoy the day
Scamp has never been a question though. We'll check how she feels in the morning but thats just me checking both her and Fwirl before we leave, and trusting the last minute healthchecks go fine, after them both girls'll be loaded into the car for a very long day out with us

Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
Awesome, I like the label saying its his travel cage and his name is done really nicely too
I still haven't made my mind up what the girls're going in... At this rate I'll end up deciding Saturday morning lol and that won't be good when we're up early just to get to go.
Its a shame he's moulting but don't worry, in pet class it doesn't really matter. Fwirl seems to be two shades of cinnamon and Scamp has been browning for ages, they're both going

Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
Okay I have two of the travellers set up
Thistle -
It's going to be a loooong 8 hours -
The Professor is using the combi 1 this year as it is my slightly bigger carrier -
Just need to get their signs done then on the day a few cucumbers and some muesli and we are off! Kiku & Jení will be in a small traveller in the car as they will be in the main show pens when we get there

Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
Poor hamster having that cage
We've decided. We're cleaning Scamps kidney unit tomorrow, she can travel in that and Fwirl can take the combi 1 when we've removed the russians aubiose and cleaned it (its what Scruff keeps going to the vet in).
I'm making them labels for their cages tomorrow too

Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
Just wanted to double check, Robos have to be shown on wood-based cat litter in the main show don't they? I just bought my bag of it for Saturday but for some reason I've started questioning myself on it. Im pretty sure that is right though isn't it?

Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
Robos are shown on shavings Dwarves and SH syrians go on wood shavings, LH syrians on cat litter.
From the NHC handbook (section B, para 29):
Quote:
The floor of the show pen shall be covered with clean sawdust, shavings, as white as possible, excepting longhaired exhibits, which must be shown on wood based cat litter. All bedding and conspicuous foodstuffs shall be removed from each show pen immediately prior to judging, and placed in the owner's box for the return journey, and that one piece of fruit or vegetable must be placed by the owner in each show pen before benching the animal. A dog biscuit, supplied by the club will be placed in each show pen prior to benching.

Re: Cardiff Show - 23rd June 2012
I swear I have read somewhere that robos go on wood based cat litter as its something to do with them being easier to catch without getting shavings everywhere oh well Fatty can have it all I'll have to pinch some shavings out of Trevor's cage though, the girls won't mind they have shared toys with him before and just end up sniffing it curiously
