US Shows
I wanted to know if there are any shows going on anytime in the near future that are close to me. So far i could only look up shows that are in California and didn't see anything for around or close by me.
Can somebody help me out this this?

No, there are no shows in any place other than California.

Re: US Shows
Hamsters are not considered to be 'show' animals in the US. They are considered children's pets.

Re: US Shows
Well "they" the organizers are in California, so the shows happen there. Technically, anyone can start another regional hamster club, there just doesn't seem to be enough interest.

Most of our members are on the East cast though.

Re: US Shows
Yeah... I do wish we had something, but it'd still have to be local. If you had shows near you, they'd still be really far away from me, for example.

Re: US Shows
You'd have to advertise it in many places, I'd imagine, to gather interest. On-line, put some fliers in stores maybe, research local breeders and start with a group that communicates among each other, then move on to organizing small scale show meetings and advertise those... etc. Get yourself a website or at least a major mailing list on Yahoo Groups. I think it'd be a gradual process.
