You could ask breeders directly if there is a colour that you have in mind. It would be easyer for you rather than keep waiting incase you dont see a lh boy at the shows.

Re: A few questions about Hamster shows...
I did think that a while ago Lisa, but there are so many breeders, I don't know where to start. I figure, at least going to a show, I get to meet some folk and coo at their fluffies! I'll know before Brinsworth how the sales tables look, if there isn't much going on I might leave it a week til Great Alne and save pennies for more toys x

Re: A few questions about Hamster shows...
Hehe! I might have to start doing so - I have heard from the lovely sales manager and I don't think I'll find what I want at Brinsworth . Not sure if I should pop along now, might do for an hour or so! There are just soooo many breeders, and so few near me, that I thought a show would be a good place to see lots all at once hehe. x

That's one of the reasons why I want to go to a show. I want to see all the different hammys and talk to breeders about the hamsters. I also thought that if I went it could help me decided which type of dwarf I would like to get.... I'm quite excited about my first show now!!
Just out of interest, does anything else go on at shows like for example are there stalls with people selling hamster accessories etc as I know that at some dog/cat shows there are things like this.

Lisa - I'm the same, I contacted 4 different breeders about Great Alne cause I couldn't bear to wait till Peter knew

Re: A few questions about Hamster shows...
I have heard that there will only be one hamster in the "flavour" I dream of at this show, and I suspect the wee chap will remind me a bit of Chewy, so I think I will wait for Great Alne, and hope some-ham turns up there. I'll be emailing Peter too, no doubt, but I'm deffo off to Great Alne. This gives me chance to save some pennies.
Still, I'm sad I won't meet Souffle and everyone this weekend if I don't go x

Re: A few questions about Hamster shows...
Wow its very interesting! Although you can look around and enter the pet class without being a member, do you need to be a member to enter the actual normal show classes?
Also I was wondering how much is it (just roughly) to buy a pedigree hammie from a proper breeder, say at the show? I'm guessing they will be abit more expensive than from a pet shop?
