yeh she sounded knowledgeable..i saw an ad for a "siberian hamster , the chinchilla type"..lol so who knows whats being sold there!! some crazy hamster mutation??!
Well FM if you are really serious and think your mum could be worked on i wouldnt mind looking after her for a bit, and im sure gizmo wouldnt mind giving up his extension for a weeks or so
there are so many lil hams out there...mind you, cleaning out 4 cages last night was quite tiring , i wish id known about bin cages before! x

Re: Sable long haired girl needs new home
heres the cage i was thinking she would be nice to live in (sorry hope but i gve up on the attachments )
ground level with porridges old 8" wheel, wooden house and woven tunnel. Then a stick ladder up to the next level:
1st level with food bowl, water bottle and a hammock. tubes up to the next level:
2nd level with a cardboard box and tubes up to the next level:
3rd level with a (what would be) a sand tray and a cushy hanging tunnel:
please tell me what you think and if its suitable.
I have a wodent wheel lookalike wheel arriving once ecf has it stock which i would replace that wheel with.

Re: Sable long haired girl needs new home
my mum has a preloved account that i can reply with, but i wouldn't reply without her permition. So i'll have to wait till she gets bk from work and ask (i'm dreading that part)
yes i do only have to two hams atm, a huge bag of megazorb and the equivelant of like 5 bags of hammy food . Except i make my own so its all different ingredients.
cleaning is a breeze and i don't mind it at all, in fact its quite enjoyable. So that isn't a problem either.

Re: Sable long haired girl needs new home
it took me ages for the fantazia cage..i want to get rid of that..it would be fine if i had 1 ham but when u have, as much as i like arranging the cages, sometimes timeis on the short.
Good luck FM.keep us updated.
I found a dog i fell in love with but until the landlord gets the garden sorted... but that would be even more money on a student loan. sigh

Re: Sable long haired girl needs new home
i just keep looking at her picture and thinking that shes the ham for me.
Both porridge and peggy weren't a trip to pick out the one i liked, they were quick descions and love at first sight.
If it hadn't been for peggy being the only ham sitting and staring at me through the pet shop window she would have never come home. Or the fact i just happened to spot porridges advert.
....
argh i just have that feeling that its meant to be XD
