Hamster of the Month - August 2011 POLL NOW ADDED

It's a new month so we have to choose the 'Hamster of the Month' for next month. The winning hamster will appear on the front page of the forum so when someone comes on to the forum they will see the picture. It will also be made into a Calendar pic for August and posted for anyone to print out.
In entering the competition you give permission for you picture to be used in these ways.
PLEASE TRY AND RESIZE PHOTOS AS SOME ARE HUGE AND ARE STRETCHING THE FORUM.

So it could be YOUR hamster who becomes famous.

1. This competition is for the August Hamster of the month.

2. You may enter 1 picture and this should be accompanied by a few lines telling us a little about you hamster and why it should be chosen.

3. The picture should be clear and as charming as possible

4. The picture must be of a hamster of any species and it must belong to you or your family. It may be with you now or have passed to the bridge.

5. Closing date for entries is Saturday 23rd July.

6. The voting will be posted and the new pic will be displayed in August. It will also be made in a printable calendar.

7. Please try and post a new photograph that you have not entered in a previous competition.

8. It may be themed if you wish and August has summer, holidays and not a lot else!

Please do not post any comments on this thread and only post entries. PM me with any queries. If you cannot post pics then e mail me the pic and I will post it on your behalf.
I have noticed that some of the pictures posted are very large. These pictures do not do your entry justice as people will not scroll across the page to view the whole image, it stretches the forum and also it can pixelate and make your picture less clear. Please resize your pictures so that they just fit across the forum. Around 600pixels width is a good size. Also you should ensure your picture is very clear and in focus as a blurry picture will not attract votes. Thanks.

This is my old man fluff Indy. Got him February 2009 when I started some rather powerful treatment for my illness...he is my little rock & has started to dramatically slow down of late. He isn't a drama queen and is so chilled back..this is one of my fave pictures of him before he sarted getting gracefully old

This is Pumba i got him in December 2009 when he was fully grown, so he is over a year and a half now and is getting quite old. He is a shy and sometimes nervous hamster but loves attention and getting treats. This is one of the best pictures i have of him as he doesnt like to sit still for more than 2 seconds :')

Jack is giving HOTM another go this time he's taking a nap in his bowl! Jack wants to win because he has made a huge progress from being very jumpy and scared, to a calm snuggly hammy!

I want to enter Yoshi for HOTM. He had to be put down a couple of weeks ago and I have never entered him for it before. I am posting a pic of him when he had his cloudy eye which was a side effect of his illness to show he was a cutie even when he had it.
Excuse the mess on the sofa, my mum was doing her cross-stitch.

I would like to enter Jasmine for hamster of the month for August



It was about this time last year that after a few failed matings she fell pregnant, and gave birth to my beautiful cinny bums, Dexter and Debs (she only had 2) however when the babies were 2 weeks old I noticed she had a lump on her back.

She went straight to the vets to have it removed and the babies went with her too. Unfortunately her little body couldn't cope with the anaesthetic and she passed away when the babies were 3 weeks old. She did such a wonderful job with them that they didnt need much extra help from me once she'd gone.

I still miss you Jasmine, but you live on through your babies.

I would like to enter Jojo to be hamster of the Month. I adopted her from a rescue last October and she was my first hamster ever. She was a mother hamster that had given birth to 8 pups and was the sweetest hamster you could ever ask for. I would like for her to be hamster of the month because I she is a great mascot of rescue hamsters who were given another chance.
