Not quite a Photo competition but something else!

Though we would have a little competition just for Valentines day, except this time you don't need a photo!

For this competition you have to write a poem of no more than 12 lines entitled:

'Hamster Valentine'

You are allowed 1 entry per person, and you can include a photo illustration if you wish, but it is not necessary. This competition will run for 10 days, then the voting will go up!

Thought we would try something different, so get your creative head on and get writing! The winners will be pubished in the Creative Corner articles section!

I love my hamster
he's my best friend
no matter how long I am away at school
when I come at night
he knows he can always depend on me
for a cuddle or a tickle

or maybe it's my yogurt drops???

His fur is soft as golden silk

Her gentle squeek is my favourite sound,
Her beady eyes look up at me, so round,
The way she lines up for her food,
though sometimes she can be quite rude.

When i go to school each day,
she looks up at me with sad eyes whilst i'm on my way,
as she knows i wont be back till 4,
but i do wonder what she does when i shut the door.

Lila and i have a friendship so pure,
And she knows what i'll ask her for,
Be my hammy valentine,
Because i want you to be mine!

What a great idea...I'll submit something in due course when I've enlisted Aidan's help...he will love doing this little task and he's quite creative. He's just had a piece of work selected for publication in a book which is due out at the end of March so that will give you an idea of his talent! He's made me a very proud mum as you can imagine

Things like this are great for Aidan as they encourage him to be competitive.

Can't wait for Aidan to get home from after-school club now

Lover Boy Valentine

I love my little hamster, he is so cool,
I hate to leave him when I go to school.
Hammy is golden and bright like the sun,
Together we have lots and lots of fun.
His eyes are bright and his face is cheeky,
When I'm with him I never feel weepy.
He sleeps in the day and wakes up at night,
And then we play and we never fight.
Hammy is a joy and a pleasure,
He is the one I will always treasure.
Hammy you are my Lover Boy Valentine,
I know that you will always be mine.
