Question need for seperation ?

Tubs and Skin are my two russian dwarf sisters who have lived together for almost two years. Tubs was recently getting alot of discharge from her bottom half so she was taken to vet and given anti biotics today. vet said it could be wet tail or pyometra. My question is should Skin be removed incase she gets wet tail aswell? or is it ok for them to stay together? I did ask the vet and he said she should be fine. but i was sure wet tail was very infectious? It would be so sad for them to be seperated now after soo long together but ofcourse i dont want Skin to be at risk of infection aswell. I just wanted to check here too,

Thanks for any help.

i don't think wet tail is very common in older hamsters!
But it is important to remove skin if you feel its infectious, it is sad (although theres a possibility to put them back together) But its better than risking her health

I know i really hope she does get better. She's been through alot , with her losing lots of weight because her top teeth 'disappeared' and then her tail coming off... she's a fighter though and she is definately a toughy
