Hi FM - sometimes there can be blood in the urine - which may look like its coming from the vagina. Like a bladder infection type thing. My first syrian when i was young had this and was treated with anti biotics.

Hamsters shouldn't bleed from this area. Your best bet is to take Peggy to the vet and see what they say. Then you will at least know whats going on and will be able to make any informed decisions from that point on.

Good luck. sugax

aww poor peggy
i hope she gets better and doesn't have pyometra or hematuria.
you should really take her to the vet just to make sure she'll be okay.

Vet appointment for 5:10 this evening.
She was bleeding again this morning and her bed has blood in it again. Even my mum seemed reluctant at first, she agreed when i explained what i thought it could be and that it wasn't normal.

I'm still holding high hopes and hoping its something she can be treated for.
Shes still acting happy and active and i know shes a tough cookie
Lots of yummy treats for her tonight!

I hope she behaves for the vet, although i may ask to hold her for him as she seems more calm in my hands.
Leaving in 10 minutes now, i'm quite nervous!

right just got back from the vets and i'm really pleased
The vet thinks it may be cystitis (bladder infection)
So shes prescribed antibiotics, 0.04ml of baytril once daily or 0.02ml twice a day.
I should put it in a tasty food like porridge or mushed weetabix, how do you suggest i do this?
Like use a bit of cows milk or just water?

Did she give you a syringe?
If your going to mix it in the food just make the food as normal and put the baytril in it. Maybe do just a teaspoon of food and put it in like that.
