My hammy Cow who has healed from whatever was wrong with her before through antibiotics has now fallen approximately 2 feet onto wood floor and I am worried
She was in my hands while I was sitting on the floor and my dad said something from across the room and startled her and she just leapt out of my hands onto the floor
She seemed to take it like a champ and just roll over and get right up and climb back into my hands and eat her broccoli but I am worried. I am checking on her every few minutes
Do injuries usually show up immediately or later on?
I don't think you need to worry about it. My Syrian hamster once fell from a greater height and she was just fine. while you still need to always be as cautious as possible to never allow hamsters to fall from any height, from what I've heard, most hamsters end up being okay after a fall.
She’s very jumpy and easily startled probably because she spent so many times at the vet for wet tail and then the complications after. I think she still has trust issues with humans
Now she approaches me and climbs up willingly into my hands but I’ll have to keep in mind how noises in the distance affect her more than my previous hamsters. I think she’s bonding so well with me and she is the sweetest angel in the world. We will definitely be strictly staying close to the ground from now on
