Default Is your hamster on metacam?

Hi, is anyone giving metacam to their hammie?
My hamster has been prescribed 0.5mg/ml cat metacam for pain relief, 0.1ml per day
I haven't kept any old meds bottles, but have a nagging feeling that might sound a little high for a 60g dwarf. Hopefully I'm wrong though. Does anyone have a similar dose I can compare mine with, just as a rough guide?
Thanks!

I would advise you check with your vet as this does appear that it may be a typo (missing a 0) or they have made an error in calculating the dose. These have both happened to me before. So I recommend not giving the metacam until your vet confirmed the dose.

My Russian isn’t currently on metacam but was on it earlier this year he weighed around 60g and he was on 0.01ml - Once a day.

Thanks for replying, may I ask, did you use dog or cat metacam? Mine is cat, rheumocam 0.5mg/ml
I have phoned the vets twice to double and triple check the dose, and they have stuck to 0.1.
I also phoned my previous vets to ask them what the dose was last time she was ill. They said that last time she was on 0.07ml twice a day. Gosh, that's even higher.

I believe it was cat metacam (or rheumocam) but my vets puts it in a medicine bottle and don’t have this bottle anymore.

This is a difficult one as I’ve never given my Russian this amount. My Russian wasn’t on it not for a pain relief but as an anti inflammatory due to upper respiratory issue. The dose your vet given is a dose is nearer to something I would normal give my Syrians.

Could they have diluted it down so that is the correct dose for that dilution? Sometimes they do do that. I've had cat and the dose has been 0.01ml which is literally a drop.
