Default does it hurt to urinate?

Hello everyone.
Tonight Matilde woke me up making a little squeal for a few seconds. I quickly went over and saw that his corner had urine on it. I'm not sure if there is a relationship, but he saw similar behavior again after urinating weeks ago.
there is no blood, nor anything strange... is it possible that hamsters, like guinea pigs, can develop calcium crystals that harm them?
Do you feed your animals diets with low-calcium vegetables?

Hi, RVN here!

It may be worth taking him to the vets to obtain a urine sample for them to test. Even if you just request a dipstick and SG measurement which are generally pretty inexpensive, they’re a good indication for kidney function and therefore helpful for any urinary concerns.

My poor hammy’s been unwell over the weekend and I did a dipstick which showed blood 4+ even though his urine was barely blood-tinged.

I hope Matilde’s ok, sending him lots of snuggles!

hello! Thank you very much for your answer. I have that material at home, I will try to do what you say. I hope I have a sufficient sample to be able to obtain results.
is your hamster receiving treatment? Hugs to him too.

Today I saw a piece of paper with a pink stain in Mati's bathroom and I got scared. I have looked at his body looking for remains, his fur is clean and if I touch his belly it doesn't seem to hurt. I have waited for him to urinate again and I have made a test strip with a negative result. I would like to be able to share some photos but I am new and I still have not found the information to be able to do it

It sounds like it may be a UTI possibly. Always visit a vet if your hamster appears to be experiencing pain

To post photos:

You can just embed the photos on the forum . They need resizing first. The easiest way is in Paint in Windows 10. Just select resize - pixels (not percentage) - 650 in the top box - "save as" jpeg (to keep the original the same size). There are phone apps for resizing as well but I find them fiddly and the results and sizes not as easy to predict.

Once you've resized it - you embed it on the forum as follows:

1) At the bottom of your message box click "Go Advanced"
2) Scroll down and click on "Manage Attachments". A new smaller window opens.
3) Click on "browse" - select the resized photo from the saved location on your pc or your phone etc. Click "upload"
4) You can do that five times in that window - maximum of 5 photos on one message but you can do it another five times on a new message box.
5) When you've finished uploading, close the small window.
6) Go to the "paperclip" at the top of the message box and tap or left click on it. A drop down menu appears with your photos listed.
7) Put your cursor at the correct place in the message box (eg end of the typing part) where you want the photos to appear.
Click on "Insert All" in the drop down menu on the paperclip.
9) Text will appear in your message box
10) Click "Submit Reply" to send your message and the photos will appear in your message.

Note: If you want to insert the photos separately - eg a bit of typing then a photo, a bit more typing then a photo, you can select individual photos and insert them one at a time rather than "Insert All" - you just place the cursor where you want the photo in the message box and select the correct photo.
