My hamster isn't eating almost anything

Do you know the temperature in your room? I know you mentioned it is cold there. I was wondering if your hamster is feeling cold.

No, unfortunately not, but I have a big update. I saw him drinking water and he took a sandbath. He's still not interested in food though.

That is really nice to hear. He must be feeling a bit better to have a sandbath.

That's good news. Maybe he's snacking from his hoard. I sometimes think that one of my old hamsters doesn't eat anything from his bowl but he always eats his fresh food and licks up his brown linseeds.

Where is it then? It's not in his nest. I checked. I woke him up today, in the evening and he ate salad and one tiny piece of a mealworm, he didn't want more.
Then he came out from his nest, went to his sandbath and washed himself and then pooped in there and he went back to sleep, but the thing is…His eyes are still mostly closed.
I feel like things would be a lot easier if I knew his age. Maybe he's an old man already? But then again, to me it happened very suddenly, because 4 days ago he was different. He was normal.
I hope he'll get better though. Before he only ate salad but today he also ate a mealworm and he ate a big piece of a salad from my hand and a mealworm I'm so happy.

As you have had Bogie for a year, he could be anything from 14 to 18 months perhaps. This is the first time he has been unwell (apart from the bugs) so he has been very healthy.

It is wonderful he has been able to eat more today. Hopefully the vet will have a cancellation soon so you can get him checked out.

My hamsters food hoard is at the bottom of his cage, under his bedding.

It's important not to remove any hoard if and when you clean out as they do rely on it for eating!

Update: Bogie is back! I saw him eating, running around, chewing on one of the toys! He's out from his nest and he was eating from the bowl!
He came onto my hand, but didn't want to come out. it's a lot better than it was a few days ago!
