I am sorry to hear this. I am glad the vet speaks English. I hope the ultrasound goes okay.

Bogie will get a shot and some antibiotics. If the antibiotics won’t help he’ll need a surgery, but there’s a chance he won’t wake up after that.
It really is bad. Glad I didn’t wait till Thursday.

Did the vet say that the lump is? I am guessing a tumour. I really hope the antibiotics work for little Bogie.

It wasn't a tumour. It's something else. I forgot what it was, but it's not supposed to be there. He also has a broken tooth. Where would he get that? He has chewing toys, he never chews bars. I have no idea where mr. Bogie would get a broken tooth!!! I KNOW!!! MAYBE THE PLASTIC BALL THAT HAS FOOD IN IT!!! HE CHEWED IT! OH MY GOD, I'M AN AWFUL OWNER! I saw him chewing it and maybe that's how he got it!

Anyways, the vet said he's in pain. I have to give him medicine and I'm kinda scared. There are two pills I have to give him and one via needle (but into his mouth, it's liquid, but he has to swallow it).

The vet also said that Bogie is very kind and didn't try to bite her even once.

Also, should I say yes or no on the surgery if the antibiotics won't help? There's a chance he won't make it.

He does not want to come out from his carrier. I believe he's in pain and sick.

Hey, you are not a bad owner! You love Bogie so much and you do everything possible for him. You must never doubt your care.

Lots of people have plastic bowls so you are not alone there. You can scatter feed his food or use a ceramic bowl. Animals often break teeth but hopefully it will grow back.

I understand what you mean about syringing medicine but how are you meant to give him a pill? Usually medicine is liquid for small animals.

Why dont you see how these antibiotics go before making any other decisions? He may be back to his usual self after the antibiotics.

I am sure other members will have opinions on Bogie having surgery if he needs that.

He just yelled at me He has never yelled at me, but I had to get him out from the carrier and I don't know how I'm going to give him pills tomorrow. I hope he realises that I'm trying to save his life.
I am supposed to smash one of the pills into very little pieces and give 1/20 of it. It would be much easier if it was 0,5 of the pill but 1/20.

One of the other medicines is liquid and two are not. One of them can be mixed with a water and I can give it to him by water.

And on Thursday we'll see how's the situation. I love him though and I don't want to lose him yet. I was kind of hoping he'd die of a natural death, not into some weird ball in his stomach.

The vet was super nice though. I hope Bogie will be fine.

A friend of mine made me feel better saying that many wouldn't have taken their hamster to a vet and many would've been like "Let's put him to sleep", which is probably true.
He doesn't have a tutor though. It's some bacteria etc in his tummy or something. I have no idea how something like this could've happened. I always wash my hands and he's cage is pretty clean.
Thank god the vet accepted today's appointment.

Some internal illnesses can make their teeth brittle and more likely to break. It's probably not anything in his cage.

I would wait and see how he does on the medications before trying to make a decision about surgery.

Bogie being unwell is not a result of his cage not being clean or you not washing your hands. Please stop blaming yourself.

Your friend is right. Many people do not bother to take hamsters to the vet when they are unwell but you have made sure you did. You are a wonderful carer to Bogie and he loves you.

I would say him shouting at you is more of a good sign then bad because it means he has the energy to shout. I know it was not nice for you though.

I hope you can manage to work out how to give Bogie the pills. It sounds really difficult. I am sure he knows you are doing this to help him. I have a feeling animals can sense such things.
