Default Strange behavior

Hey all,
I’m the one who thought my 2 year old hamster icicle might’ve had a stroke last night, but today I’m thinking I was wrong.

Today she’s been acting normal all day, eating like normal and walking around. She is also able to pee and poop just fine as far as I can tell.

However, it seems like she’s been scratching herself a lot with her foot since yesterday and against the corners of the cage (one of them she cleared the bedding out of). She seems to be squirming around a bit while trying to sleep but is otherwise back to being her happy normal self

Now I’m wondering if maybe something could be making her itchy? Maybe a side effect of her antibiotics for her abscess

Her vet told me they weren’t even available to answer any questions about her until later and no other vets near me see hamsters, so I have to wait until they answer me. Otherwise, I’ve continued her prescribed antibiotics as normal.

Does her skin where's she's scratching look ok or is it inflamed looking?

All medications can have side effects. With Baytril it's more likely to be gastric upsets and Baytril is generally well tolerated by hamsters.

I wonder if her abcess is itching because it's healing. I'd ask the vet for advice and phone them before her follow up appointment.

Her skin doesn’t look enflamed or red, but she has so much fur that it’s hard to tell in certain areas

She seemed to scratch less today than yesterday

I’m going to call her vet again today and ask all my questions before her follow up appointment
