Daxter's losing fur, Help!
I think that I might have a problem. Recently I've noticed that Daxter has been losing fur on one side. It's about the size of my pinkie nail and is just in front of back right leg.
Now I've checked him and there's no irritation, wounds or flea bites. Just unbroken skin that looks to be healthy and normal colored. I know that Daxter isn't stressed. As he's not making any chirps or chattering to tell me that. In fact, he's mainly just been chilling in his tunnels. Comes out right on cue if I shake the treat bag. So no clues there.
Then I thought that it might be his scent glands but if that were the case, then he'd be losing fur on both sides. Not just the one. At least that's what my research suggested. There's also nothing in his cage that he could rub against that would snag his fur. As I'm pretty sure that I would've found something like that after the search I did after the last deep clean two days ago.
It doesn't seem like it could be a vitamin deficiency either, as they all get the same food. And none of the others are showing any signs of losing their fur. In fact, I think Jaeger's gotten hairier. If that were possible. Even so, I've been adding a few vita-drops to Daxter's water to be on the safe side. But I have yet to see any results.
Even though I've done all this, I still feel like I might be missing something. So does anyone know of anything else that might cause this sort of sudden fur loss? I don't it's really that serious right now but I just don't want to take any chances. Any advice at this point would be great appreciated.
Side note, we are going to the vet but due to Covid restrictions and the fact that only a few vets will see about hamsters in my area, it won't be until next week.

Is Daxter a Syrian since you mention scent glands? How old is he?
I wouldn't give vitamin drops because everything a hamster needs should come from the food.
A pinch of brown linseeds daily is good for their fur and can make a difference.
As long as the skin looks healthy and not red or sore and he doesn't scratch or bite the area excessively, i wouldn't be too alarmed at this point.
You say that you deep cleaned his cage two days ago. If you have removed all his scent he may have been rubbing himself against things trying to scent everything.

He's a Syrian and just turned 15 months. The problem started about a week ago, before I did the monthly deep clean.

In that case it's not related and he's a bit too young to show signs of aging.
Do you have a photo?

Okay, Daxter's been to the vet. His diagnosis: protein deficiency. It would seem old Dax hasn't been cleaning his plate like he should and that's led to the current situation. So he's been given a diet change and hopefully within the next month, his fur will grow back. If it doesn't, we'll be going back to the vet. Something I know Daxter will NOT be happy about, as he actually screamed at the doctor.

Let's hope Daxter's fur will grow back so he won't be faced with the vet again!
A daily pinch of brown linseeds is good for their fur and hamsters like them.

That's actually part of his new diet.

Hopefully the dietary change will help. Hamsters can sometimes have a bit of a moult in warm weather as well, and it grow back again - but then they tend to look mangy. What diet was he on before?

Re: Daxter's losing fur, Help!
I actually did a little bit of a mix. Most of their food is the Sunburst Gourmet Blend, as it's got a mixture of seeds, dried fruit/veggies and pellets. But I also mix in a few pieces (4 or 5 pieces a bowl) of Oxbow Essentials. These are pretty small and don't make up much of their diet, but they seem to like it.
